Should I buy a Ferrari 355?

I've owned Porsches for the last few years and they have always been bullet proof. The Ferrari itch still needs to be scratched and it's getting itchier by the day! Although you can now get a 360 for close to 355 money it's the 355 that has me in it's clutches and the one I really want to own. (Heart not head speaking). I'm expecting issues.
I would like to use it to commute a 14 mile round trip each day and weekend use. Just how unreliable are they? Servicing costs seem ok it's the hidden cost for nasties that concern me... has anyone owned a 355 for a while and could they shed light on what to expect and perhaps what you have encountered yourself?

From our experience the answer to the question of should I buy a Ferrari is a resounding
YES. We spent a couple of years dithering over whether we should or shouldn't and bought perfectly good but ultimately unsatisfactory cars in the meantime.
Our budget didn't very easily cover a 355 (I am a cautious girl by nature
) so we were looking at 348s instead (often not as well regarded as 355's but heyho). Judas liked the looks of the 355 but the (relative) mechanical simplicity of the 348. When one came up with 355 panels and doors it seemed to be the best of both worlds.
Having driven 355's and now 348's the latter is more of a raw car, but seeing as we have come from TVR ownership the 348 is more of a 'medium rare' rather than the 'chop off its horns, wipe its arse and walk it past a candle' rawness of the TVR's. To flog this dead horse of a metaphor I would describe the 355 as medium. Not to do the car a disservice whatsoever, it is just more civilised.
Anyhoo, ask the 355 owners on www.ferrarichat.com too for their take on things, I suspect they will all say yes

Go for it I owned a F355 manual(previous car was 348GTS that I did not like) for 4 years the longest I have kept any car they are fantastic cars. Keep the servicing up to date and if you have bought a good one it should serve you well I would not use it daily through the winter as the salt will get into a lot of awkward places and the car will generally start to look tatty (going by others I have seen).
Look at the rear buttress for cracking fairly easy sort got mine done properly on purchase and after 4 years still ok even with car doing regular track days check manifolds are not cracked both common problem areas.If you use a specalist the belt service is not a major bill.
