When in my Chimera 97P 400 if I push the drivers door gently or if I'm going round a left hander and brace against it I hear a ticking switch or relay in the door and behind the dash. confused

Any ideas what this is and how I can stop it, it's pretty annoying , unless I am really going for it in which case I can't hear it anyway! driving

Cheers all!

there's a solenoid on the scuttle that is pressed in by the action of the door closing - there should be a raised pad on the door that meets the solenoid. Sometimes these get dislodged or fall off. If the solenoid is not fully depressed the circuit is not closed leading the central locking mechanism to oscillate. When you lean on the door it is apparently lifting the pressure of the solenoid. Check the pad on the door and/or add a little height to this. Should fix it no prob.

Right answer but it isn't a solenoid, they are something completely different - it is a door switch/pin switch.

I once had this... It was the fag packet & lighter next to the mirror switch - clicked the mirror relay
