Thought I'd ask the Caterham owners a question, so please read on

Hi.

I'm David (Hello!) and I live in Hampshire, Petersfield to be picky.

I would love to have a ride in a Caterham. Well it comes second best to having a drive in one but I didn't want to be to cheeky in my hopes

With all these hot sunny days springing up, I'm bored of the Mothers 1.25 Fiesta that I drive and would love to taste the fun of a Caterham without having to spend hundreds on a track day.

So thrill rides/ ingenious ideas please

David

I'm sure a local owner will sort a run for you. If you were more local to me (Staffordshire) it would be no problem. Otherwise, find out where your local meet is and pop along to have a chat to the group. Usually most people are ver welcoming and enjoy nattering about their cars.

Good luck!

Pop along to the Phoenix Inn on the A30 near Hartley Witney on the second Wednesday or the final Thursday of any month and you'll be spoilt for choice. The North Hants and Berks branch of the Seven Club meet there on those dates and, from now on, there will be at least ten or more Sevens in the car park on these evenings. I'm sure some of the owners would be more than happy to take you for a spin.

I do know Hartley Wintney. Do you turn up to the meets?

Nip over here to the island. I will pick you up from the ferry, do a circumnavigation of the island and and then drop you back.

I try to get to them, although I haven't been able to over the past few months. These days I can usually only attend the Wednesday meeets.

I may come over to the island. I can go from Portsmouth.

Haven't been for a while. What is it...a 60 odd mile round trip?

Good for a drive?

And Hartley Wintney isn't to far away. Other side of Alton from me. about a 45 minute drive I guess. I see you live in Farnborough. You must drive around Hampshire?

David

Thanks for the replies so far

Parts are good and parts are a tad bumpy! Just let me know if you are coming over.

Very friendly meeting - that's where I started. Sadly my current Caterham isn't road legal, but if it was I'd go along and meet you there.

Sorry I haven't replied for a while. Been working hard.

Thanks for the offers.

Eric Mc: Where do you drive and if you go to a meeting nearby then I'd be interested I think it'd be easier to meet someone there rather than turning up and asking for a cheeky lift.

Wight Skipper: It's a tempter as I haven't been over to the Isle for a wee while and I think it could be a good drive.

RobM77: Not road legal? Guessing that it is modified for track use as opposed to not road worthy. So if it's the former, get tracking

I seem to have posted at a bad time really without thinking about my up and coming plans. I'm busy all weekends this month and then on the 30th I go to France, come back and then go to Le Mans on the 13th. So if anyone is going down the Maussane Straight, let me know!!

I'll keep an eye on this thread as I appreciate the kind offers and I still want to a have a blast in a Caterham.

Hope it won't be to late to take the offers up.

Rednut5 -

I think I meet most of your criteria:
I have a Caterham, live in Hampshire, I'm going to Le Mans and most importantly I'm certainly driving it down the Mulsanne straight.
Your best bet is to turn up at the PH meet on Friday morning at Arnage and ask any of the owners for a ride in one.

If you can get to Abingdon on 18th May you are welcome to some passenger rides at an Airfield Trackday, should be a bit more exciting than your Mum's Fiesta

Not Abingdon but gives you an idea

But I'm more than happy to come over. Great offer thanks

dazzled: Currently going to Le Mans in a PT Cruiser. Gash doesn't describe it.....Oh and it's Gold...wank.

Why not drop me an e-mail and you could arrange to pop down to see me. I'm in Farnborough.
