Hi,
i am running 205/55 on 15" front wheels, with PAS on my 1998 Chim 450, and i am happy with their performance.

Due to a little "driver error", I am looking at some new wheels, which have 205/50 tyres.

What would be the impact of running these?
Would i be able to fit205/55 to the same wheels?

Sorry if these are really daft questions, but thanks for your answers

Cheers, David

Cheers Oggs, a mine of information as usual.
Have you any idea how the 50s will perform compared to 55s?

I preferred the 50 Falkens really held the road tho the toyo are just as good

Do you think i might experience tramlining, or a more bouncy ride with the smaller profile?

Might be a bit bouncey but nothing too bad

Were'nt the 60 profiles only on early cars with the battery step in the wheelarch - every one of them I have seen has been savaged by the tyre to some extentyikes

Doesn't this mean that the wheel plus tyre radius will be less.
205 x 0.5 = 102.5mm as opposed to 205 x 0.55 = 112.75mm.

Is the road speed sensor on the front or back whhels ?

confused
Ok, now i'm completely confused, so here's what i'll do idea
I'll try with the 50 profile, and if i don't like 'em i can put 55s on.

Job sorted (hopefully)

If its any consolation my 500 has 215/50 front and 235/50 rear and it runs fine not too firm or too bouncy - good compromise and they are original fit on the car & must be callibrated accordingly, handbook confirms those sizes too.
