How much will it cost me to get a new rear number plate, the backlit type for a chim 400 1996? I have varied costs so far and wonder what you all think is about right.

Cheers

Woah!! Not so easy at fancyplates. For a start they only sell pairs. When I enquired about translucent rear they said no problem. Trouble was when it arrived it was see-through ok but it wasn't reflective! I ended up getting one from uknumberplates.co.uk - no fancy fonts or borders - but he found a TVR log for the bottom (which was nice!). Then fancyplates.com wrote to me advising they had the correct materials now and did I still want one! Their next effort was "good enough" - it's not very translucent and the MOT inspector couldn't see any evidence of illumination so marked it as "advise" on the report.

send a mail to this company:

Automarq@aol.com

they charged me 10.50 for a translucent plate for my Griff. It arrived the next day and came with sticky pads and screws.

Fit a boot opening kit at the same time. Then you can open the boot without going inside the car, it doesnt work if the car is locked of course.

Yeah the boot opening kit sounds like a great job. So does the lights upgrade kit and telescopic bonnet support. Still waiting for mod-wise to send me mine. That's a plug and a hint all in one David.
