TCS do a front grooved set i think for about £ 500.00.
Seems most people go the grooved rout as the drilled ones seems to explode

Err . . . I've heard this said so many times but never actually seen it. I accept that under hard, sustained track use they may not be entirely up to the job, but I just can't see any manufacturer let alone TVR putting on drilled disks as OE on their cars e.g. the Tuscan if they're going to explode. I for one have the Tuscan front disks on my Cerb - as have many others and have never had a problem yet on the road or on the few trackdays I've done. :fingerscrossed: I've also seen far more Cerbs with drilled disks than grooved ones too.

Did you get much of a performance improvement, keithyboy? I'm building my list of upgrades, and I am not altogether happy with the brakes on mine...

I've said it many times, and I've also seen it. Drilled discs are bad news, mmm'kay? Stick to grooved.

I've had useful conversations with the good folks at BG developments in the past, just not got round to sorting things out. I'm going to try and get mine done before Le Mans as the vibration through the pedal was quite noticeable when I was out and about in the Cerb last night.

If you have the original bell and rotor design, then you're better off to keep the bells and buy new rotors if you can. The standard 4.5 disc has a 322mm diameter, where the standard for AP is 330mm. If the bolt pattern for the bell is standard (no reason to think it isn't) then a standard pair of 330s would be cheaper than the TVR items, you just need to get the calipers appropiately spaced and hey presto, you have a modest upgrade. The next step up is 343mm I think, although it's possible that 4 pot APs cannot clear this diameter of disc - you might need 6 pots, which may bring their own clearance problems.

I have been wondering about the strap drive system that AP do in place of fully floating discs, but it doesn't seem to be that widely available yet and might well need custom bells on the Cerb. Will let you know how I get on.

Steve.

The best upgrade is braided lines for starters, not very expensive, much improved feel at the pedal.
