Silencer made out aluminium?
Discussion
Providing its not too close to the engine you might get away with it, especially with the ceramic coating.
I'd get some of those temperature stickers and take some measurements on various places on the existing steel system
Ideally yo want to be below 250°C to avoid big shiny puddles on the floor

Some repackable track type silencers have aluminium bodies, and I seem to remember the Ford Lightning pick-up having an aluminium tailpipe at least, so normal exhaust temperatures (i.e. not manifold temps) should be no problem.
Not sure about the temperatures involved in curing ceramic coating though, so you could do with checking to see what they are and how they compare to the melting point of aluminium. Unless of course you were intending to just use the brush-on stuff.

my car uses a Micron bike style silencer with stainless end caps, mild internals and an ally tubular body. even on the dyno its nowhere near as hot as the steel 2.5" bore that feeds it and the car is turbocharged so exh gasses are mega hot. i guess so long as its not rear engined or very close to the manifold it wont be an issue
I spoke to Techcraft re ali silencers and they refused to take my money.
On an Ultima that are jolly close to the engine and could melt.
All the race Ultima's and Stealth's have had stainless silencers.
That said, you might get away with it on a less tuned engine with a coating, providing it never backfired or similar.

On a middle engined sports car I worked on some years ago, the dyno exhaust temperature measurements showed up to 800 degrees C at 7400 rpm full load pre muffler at the back.
Post muffler/silencer gets downs to 740 deg C where as closer to the engine- pre catalyst can get to above the 850 deg C under the same conditions.
