Head lamp covers

Can anybody tell me the safest way to remove the black etching paint from around the perspex headlamp covers please, I have managed to take off all the rubber bonding, but would like to renew the black paint/etching that is left, I have a windscreen company coming out on Thursday to re fit them to the front Clip. Thanks.

The stuff is that good I doubt it will come off. The reason it is used is that it etches the surface it is applied to.
If it is a bit patchy then try reapplying it to the inside to make good. failing that you may need to apply it to the outside as well but I don't think it will look very good.
Do you have time to get a 'sale or return' set from the factory. Or borrow some from somebody else's kit.

Its scratched in parts, I could possibly just go over it, but thought while they are off the car, I would do a propper job and re do them, perhaps wait until thursday and see what the windscreen co say, thanks.

How about metal polish and elbow grease (or Dremel) - that's what I've used to take scratches out the perspex - but of course it will take some perspex with it.

I wouldn't try to remove it, just remask and re apply the paint over the existing if I were you.

Thanks Andy that is the way I will go, there arn't any scratches in the perspex what I meant to say is the paint / primer is missing which looks like scratches, oh boy, I will just go over the existing thanks.

Wow what a result, got a guy from a reputable windscreen co to do it for me and what a cracking job, all done and dusted, look great too, for what I paid wasn't worth strugling to do it myself.
