Anyone have any recommendations as to how best to acquire track day cover (thinking for Rockingham)?

www.competition-car-insurance.co.uk/

Should be around £100, but expect the excess to rise to around £2-3K

if you got your car insured through A Manning then track day cover should be included.

Me not being a cheap skate decided this was the better option when I renewed as it was not the cheapest quote by som £30 - £40

Before switching to Mannings last year, I got cover with CCI for 1 day at Brands.

Cost £140 for £15ks worth of cover, and iirc the excess was £1500 ish. CCI were the cheapest I found.

I got track day cover free when I insured through heritage - but only for TVRCC track days

Mannings best allround cover, TVRCC and most other well run trackdays: just a sensible extra £500 excess

Others want 10% of car value excess plus £130ish per event

I used them recently. Quoted me £90 for £7k of cover with a 10% excess (ie. £700).

I was definitely happy with that.

That's something I have confidence in Gerbil!

However, best quote so far from Competition Insurance is 377 quid with a 10% of car value excess! Jeez, are you TVRCC guys that bad on track?

They want 171 quid for me Dad's '91 964 C2 btw.

No, I think the problem may be your end, so to speak. £377 sounds excessively high.

Mannings have just offered to reduce my premium (over Chubb) by 300 quid AND include track day cover

My years insurance on the chim is only about £450 and that includes the track day cover. You need to try elsewhere - or do you have a history of hitting tyrewalls ....
