Mmm ...

1. Engine running, disconnect sensor and only one fan fires up
2. All fuses relays checked/swapped
3. Assuming temp read-out is correct - can you reach a temp that causes the expansion cap to vent?

So,

4. Have you tried swapping the connectors around - they are part of the loom behind the fans?
5. Also try disconnecting or removing relay/fuse from working fan and see if this forces the 2nd fan on - obviously turn off before it starts to boil.

Stumped, otherwise

Thanks again Martin,I will try swapping the connectors around, are they the obvious white rectangular plastic connectors situated behind the fans?I wont have time to play with them till next week now,but a trip out tonight to my local Aston club meeting has put the smile back on my face, even if Trev did get a little hot putting him back in the garage. Cheers Simon

Yep, can be a bugger to reach. A wire coat hanger does the job, after which cable tie them so they are handy. Might not solve anything but rules one more thing out.
