Hello peeps,

I've noticed this evening that my exhaust y-piece (pre-serp 500) is cracked along the top seam on the RHS and is starting to do the same on the LHS. The crack is only hairline but it's perhaps 5 inches long and enough to make it leak.

Especially frustrating as I only had the system ceramic coated in December last year.

I imagine I can get someone to grind the crack(s) a bit and weld them up again, but has anyone else had this problem?

Also, can I somehow touch up the black ceramic coating again after (Camcoat) in a durable way without having to have the whole thing re-coated?

I think only Mr Camucoat will answer that. JP will do fine work repairing your Y-Piece - I have seen quite a few welded up cant be so unusual (I'm not a Ypiece perv is what I mean)

I'd take it somewhere local and get it welded. Then buy a pot of Tech-Line "Black Satin" (the same stuff that Camcoat use) and touch it up myself.

Black Satin is available from Demon Tweeks.

My First Griff (94 preserp) did axactly the same thing.
Phoned my local tyre/exhaust centre and asked them if they had a freindly metalwork/engineering shop with S/S welding experience. Took it to them and £10 later all fixed and you wouldn't know it had been done.
