Discussion
I referred to my investigations for a 'quick fit' parking roof on the Roof Cover thread recently and have now moved things forward a bit.
I have spoken to a soft top specialist and the principle of my idea is fine and I am in discussion with a friend who owns an architectural fabrication company to sort out a frame.
My idea is three support bars stitched into a reasonably weather proof cover that will flap over the screen, rear panel and windows. In order to keep it simple and inexpensive (hopefully) I am NOT intending this to be used on the road but purely as a protector when parked. Trying to make something road safe would be too complex, expensive and leave me open to being sued of the face of the earth probably. It should then be easy to roll up and tuck in the boot. As I had said previously, if it is not quick and easy to fit or remove then it is not worth doing, so that will be a major factor in its development.
Although a proper waterpoof roof material, there will obviously not be any seals so wind and rain could still get in, but showers would probably be kept at bay. There will be an overlap with 'weighted' edges.
Is this what people might be looking for? Any feedback would be useful.

Sounds good David, I have been thinking of getting something similar fabricated although along slightly different lines. I need something for the car park at work, totally secure here but I have to fit the roof everytime just in case it rains (can't see outside at work!). I was also thinking of knocking up something for summer touring so I could leave the roof at home but just have a temporary one for emergencies.
Let us know how you get on.
