I've just won on E-bay a pair of the ally stalks as fitted to the last of the chims (the zertec style ones) however, as they are used they obviously won't come with any insx so how do I fit them? I've been told I'll need to cut my current ones off and glue the new ones in place but where do I make the cut and what glue will I need to ensure they stay put?
I know I could have gone out and bought some leven ones that come with insx for similar money to these 2nd hand ones but I hate the looks of them, been after some of these zertecs for a while now and finally have found some!

I've got Zertecs. I think you cut the indicator stalks making sure they're still long enough to be able to reach the stalk from the wheel. From memory, the section of the stalk doesn't taper or anything so as long as you're sensible you should be OK. If in doubt leave them long - you can always cut more off. You may not need glue but I used Araldite epoxy. If it all goes horribly wrong, you just need new stalks off a Cavalier.

Are the ones you've got the ones advertised as fitting the TVR, lotus & vx220 as well? I'm considering getting some cos I'm keen on the leven ones but wasn't sure how they'd look, the pictures look ok but it was the fitting that looked like it might not look right, so any feedback on them would be appreciated.

These are the ones I've bought - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dl
I've seen them fitted to the late Chims and think THEY LOOK GOOD - FAR BETTER THAN THE LEVEN ONES!

They look really good.

I was looking at these ones -

They are the same as on my Chim, don't know where they came from they were on the car when I got it.

It looks like the old stalks are cut off with the remaining stub filed to fit the square hole in the new stalk.

Mine are just glued on but the glue has come off one and it doesn't move, the rubber boot keeps it firmly in place.
