How much for GT3 and am I Mental??
Discussion
I'm not entirely sure why....but I'm considering selling my GT3.
The car has had a small fortune thrown at it in the past and in the last month and when I collect it on Saturday will have just about everything that could possibly need doing, done. So why am I even thinking about it??
Don't know...I get like this with cars. I think the problem is in the last month I've had 5 sets of insurance to pay, 5 servicing bills, 5 road tax and 5 MOTs. My own fault for having 5 cars you may say....and you're probably right!!!! That in itself might be part of the problem/madness but I'm Porsche obsessed.
I've hardly had chance to REALLY use the car...so am I being impatient and do I just need to go out and drive it? The RS will be back all spick and span at the end of the month and somethings telling me two track cars is just plain greedy/stupid. Help.
Details are below and I'd be really interested on what you all think its worth??
996 GT3 Mk1 LHD
2000 model that has been in Uk since March 2000
3 previous owners in Uk - last one 3 1/2 years and well known in Porsche community
Guards Red (just had full paint correction and detailing by Glyn O'Donnell of www.elite-detailer.co.uk - you can see it on page 4 of the Porsche Gallery next to my 964RS) with black leather interior and recaro seats.
31,000 miles
FSH and serviced about 100 miles ago where:
- all 4 brake discs were replaced
- all 4 sets of pads were replaced with 996 GT3 Supercup pads
- all brake fluid replaced with racing blue
- GT3 Cup brake ducts fitted
- new Dunlop Super Sport Race Tyres fitted all round
- All wheels fully refurbished by specialist with graphite centres and silver rims
and is currently in specialists having both radiators replaced and both coolant rads replaced and protective mesh fitted to vents in pront PU
Car is comfort spec with proper sports seats and aircon (the 2 main important parts), Cd and onboard computer but benefits from new:
Penske (the US Porsche LM2 race team) race shocks and Eibach dampers all round - fully adjustable and has had extensive setting up (don't ask the cost) with GT3R rear track rods
Cargraphic exhaust
Short shift gearstick
Rebuilt gearbox by Porsche OPC
385bhp on rolling road
SO WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK???

but thats the point. you dont work for a living. you work to keep yourself in cars
and yes were are taunting you
gimme my registration number back
Having too many cars is a big problem. I've got 3 - which is 1 too many, and can't decide which I have to say goodbye to. If you've got 5 then you've maybe got more choice of which one should go.
The problem with too much stuff is that you still have to pay for it all and house it all, but you don't get to spend enough quality time with it. Bit like wimmin.
So I definitely think selling 1 or 2 is a very good thing, but probably not that one. If you fancy swapping it I know someone with a Sagaris tho...

but better than being unemployed

No one has told this man what they think his car is worth, and that's important, because a) he's asked, and b) I'm tempted. There's a RHD 2001 car with similar mileage on another thread here with an asking price of 40k. Would it be fair to look at this 2000 LHD car in context with that one? Thereby pricing it in the highish 30s or something? It's shitty to tell someone their car is worth less than they think, and I'm only one voice here - maybe i'm wrong. So what's this car worth as a decent private sale price without taking the mick? Anyone else care to pick a number?
