Never been there before, what an excellent place to drive. Basically no cars, good visibility and every road angle imaginable. Its like a roller coaster ride and you don't even have to break the speed limit to have fun!
Only one slight tense moment which involved opposite lock, 4 wheel drift and a nearby dry stone wall.

Definitely recommended if you have not driven there before. Us SE England folks rarely have the chance to get out of 2nd gear!

Agreed, and the further north up the dales you go, not a speed camera in sight.........

I went Leyburn to Hawes then down to Settle...

To Booths the best supermarket in the world, mainly because its voted best Real Ale retailer of the year.
I bought £50 worth of "goods".

I had a quick run round the bit of land between the Yorshire Dales and the Lake District on the way down to Rockingham. Nice bit of country - for England, some decent roads with a good combo of fast bits and some very twisty. Kirkby Lonsdale was a decent place to stop for some grub and a wander round and not far off the M6 - around the Preston junction.

Hey you are making me home sick (not).

A good run is Stanhope to Middleton in Teesdale and then onto Brough. There are heaps of fast roads in the Dales, but watch out for the Kangaroos, erm I mean sheep!
