Problem with electric seats - 944 s2
Discussion
Driver's side - only one seat switch works - the other does not.
Passenger side - both seat switches aren't working.
I was going to have a crack at investigating this weekend. How do I know if its a problem with switches or motors (or cables for that matter) - I suspect it will be a case of trial and error.
Bearing in mind I'm inexperienced around cars, are there any tips on what I should look for? Any assistance most appreciated!

Either a broken wire under the seat or the switch it`s self (around £40). In the case of the wire it could be broken internally and the insulation still undamaged. A combination of feeling the wire & pulling it a bit to see if it breaks.
Not an expensive job at a garage. You might also give the switch a few definate taps with your finger on the part of the button where you would push it to operate. The little ball bearing inside the switch gets covered in grease and once someone has set the seat often doesn`t get used again for years.
