hi there, sorry been a bit busy the last couple of days - well up to my neck in it to be honest however I digress. If you're going to an event in George Square theres the hotel in the square right next to Queen Street Station - formerly a Copthorne, not sure who owns it now but I can already hear Will choking at the room rates as its going to be expensive.
If I was you I'd stay out of town and get the train in on the morning of the event, north of the city for Queen St station or anywhere else for Central Station and a brisk 5 min walk to George Square. Now as for the night before etc depends on the date - my brother gets married in September - Friday 14th in New Lanark, if its that weekend I could try twist his arm for an invite for you :-)
Send me an email with more info on what sort of accomodation you need, dates etc and I'll get some more suggestions for you. There is for example a fairly decent hotel in Motherwell with good food, 5 mins from station, 20mins by train to city centre by train or car. Hotels in Glasgow itself tend to be large chains, Hilton, Holiday Inn, Marriott, Jurys and the room rates to go with them and parking usually costs extra.
