MPEG-4 SP, MPEG-4 AVC, MPEG-2, MPEG-1

I think the most interesting is MPEG 4 part 10, aka H.264

If you download the Casino Royale HD trailer, it's H.264 1080p HD, encoded at about 1.9MBS transfer rate. You can use Apple Quicktime Pro to do your own encoding (topic in the photo/video forum www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=387846), and there's also a free one-click encoder PS3 Video 9 on Windows from www.redkawa.com which can convert your existing movies and Rips to H.264

Now that you can get 16GB compactflash cards, that's good for around 16 hours of hi-def 1080p video at 2MBS transfer rate - I haven't tried encoding standard def video, but you'll certainly get more onto the same storage space

The blu-ray spec supports over 40MBS, but the movies released so far look to be encoded at a much lower rate

Interestingly the XBox 360 is also due to support H.264 in the May dashboard update. It's also Apple's preferred HD format
