Hi I know its unlikely but is it possible to buy a decent Chrimera for £7 - 8k? I am looking to get one for the summer (I know I know I will probably (actually scratch the probably) keep it for a lot longer) and have a budget of max £8k so is it possible to get a decent one?

I have seen some in the PH classifieds that seem to fit the bill, but what are peoples opinions? are they just censored boxes in disguise or could they actually be any good?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice

I picked up a 97' 400 for £9.5k but then spent £1k getting the essential jobs and a 12k service done and it was in January so a bit cheaper then! I would suspect you should be able to find an older one for £8k but remember always buy on condition and never buy the first one you see yes Also be prepared to have to spend something on it.

There will be some good ones out there....finding them might be a problem but the calssifieds here is a good place to start.

Might also be worth getting an inspection before you part with your hard earned.

Thanks for the advice.. I am not that worried about the age as I am unlikely to put many miles etc on it... I am currently searching the forums for the things to look for when buying etc. I'm not too worried about some of the "niggly" jobs as the old man is very handy with the spanners... more worried about the "biggies" like it being bent like a banana or using more oil than petrol!

There look to be some VERY good ones in PH classifieds that seem to be good cars for a lot less than £9k at the moment. One of the best value sports cars out there at the moment.

et voila!

Last owner 6 years, full TVR service history, not silly miles, great colour ... on the surface looks nice and for less than £7k

I have one that is having a good bit of retoration done to it.

It is having a MK2 nose put on it due to a bit of damge, a fresh lick of paint at the front, a new ignition system (currently a weak spark) and a full 12 months MOT on it.

Once MOT'ed and fully serviced up etc i will be looking for £7995 for it.

It is deep met blue, 75,000 miles and will be STUNNING. Also has 18" after market wheels.
