Now I knew that TVRs were exempt from the recent road tax hike due to not being a volume production vehicle.... But while under the bonnet of mine earlier I found what appears to be (I can only assume) an SVA pass sticker. I can't remember the exact wording and I'm not getting back in there now at nearly 01:45 in the morning but it states something along the lines of "british automobile [something] approved/passed"

Is this par for the course or do I have a "special" one. It's on the left side of the engine bay (looking towards the front of the car)

I'll get the exact wording on it tomorrow.

I had that on mine, I think it refers to the recall for the suspension. Its just to say it passed and is road worthy.

I presume that the cars would pass the SVA, but just have a few exemptions.

I thought that for a TVR it's gone up to 180 quid for 2007/8 for private cars over 1549cc. What's the exemption? www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/HowToTaxYourVehicle/DG_10012524

I've got that as well, this one just struck me as a little odd. I'll get my lazy ass out there and grab a picture of it later.

So tell me this, when I go to renew my tax, what exactly do I need to do to avail of the reduced rate for Cerberas?

Of course. All vehicles sold in the UK have to have EC type approval.

I would be very unhappy if I saw that on my car.

As far as I know, and I could well be wrong here, but no TVR has, or had to pass a SVA, because TVR would have limited type approval.

Now here's the reason I would be upset.

The only reason I could think of for a TVR having to pass an SVA, is if it had been significantly altered from the original TVR, and therefore deemed by the powers that be, that the car requires single type approval.

Or if the car had been written off. In that case the car would have to be inspected after the accident damage had been repaired and the car be given single vehicle approval.

Do you know the history of can you do a history search with HPI on your car to see if its been a write off?

Have you looked at the sticker in the picture? It doesn't say "Single Vehicle Approval", it says "Whole Vehicle Type Approval". Mine has the same sticker, with the same number -- it's the type approval number for the Cerbera.

Marvelous.

And yes I did have her HPI checked for free as one of the terms of me buying her.
