We all have some knowledge about the world famous Speed 12 bearing the registration mark W112 BHG. Some of us have even been lucky enough to see and hear Her in the flesh during Her few public appearances and what a spectacle She is.........
But what happened to this Speed 12 bearing the registration mark W312 BFV. This is the only picture I have but I've never heard Her mentioned before.
Regards
Simon.

Just thought i'd throw this into the mix to stir things up a bit (note the different lights).
Next someone will be telling us this is the same car too i suppose...

No, not the same. That's the mock-up that was built for the '99 Motorshow. The chassis was MDF, skinned in thin aluminium to make it look real. The suspension and bodywork were genuine, though.
The 'two' road cars were one and the same. The story went that the silver one was sent to Brazil (remember the Creighton Brown Brazilian thing in '00?) and the red one was new. Of course it was just a respray - the cars were never seen together without the aid of Photoshop...
Edit: And yes, it was a ruse to gain entry into the British GT series. TVR had to prove that they were making road cars and not just stringing everyone along - which they were. Then they did exactly the same thing with the T400R (Tuscan R).

....however there were TWO Cerbera Speed 12s at a GT round at Silverstone in 2000 or 2001 - the main works car (black) and a white car leased/hired to Ashley Ward for the weekend. Somebody must have photos of these two together in the TVR garage? As for the T400/440R ruse, it really wound up the ACO at Le Mans - some very choice words were used to describe a certain individual at TVR.

I can really imagine the sense of humor failure by the ACO, its surprising they didnt chuck the cars out of the race... G

You're right about the two cars in '01, Phil. The white one was the original Scania one from '00, while the black one was built around a new tub. The tub of the black one was written off in a qualifying shunt at Thruxton, so the white one was resprayed for the next round. I'm not sure if that tub was ever repaired.
I almost mentioned the ACO in my post...
Edit: Muggo, from LNT, and I were chatting about the Tuscan Rs at Valencia this weekend, funnily enough. As I remember it Lawrence had to buy the two wide-body cars as they (along with John's) were the only chassis that would ever get ACO approval because TVR didn't build any road cars. So he ended up with four of them, just to get an LMS entry.

c6erb is indeed correct with his info on the two cars. The dvla site ( dvla "online"/vehicle licensing/vehicle enquiry and then follow the link )has two 7.7 ltr vehicles, one registered as W112 BHG and one as W312 BFV in red and silver respectively. I assume they are therefore mot'd and on the road somewhere. If anyone can get other reg. number/s, it's easy to find out if those vehicles are taxed and on the road also using the dvla site. Better still why don't the owners send info to pheads!!!! We're waiting! ( plus more pics )

Honestly, they are one and the same car - trust me on this!
The car is currently for sale again, as I understand it.
