With motorists being squeezed for more and more money whether it be in road tax, petrol duty, road charging etc. The local council elections in Boston provide a timely reminder of how much passion "motoring" holds with the public.

An entire council under the countrol of a motoring protest group.

"Motoring Protest Group"?
Are you a Labour spin-doctor?

It's a group of people who don't want cars near their homes.

I must agree.

I would love to think that they are indeed a motoring protest group.

However, it does seem like a single issue group appealing to NIMBYs.

Where only a small percentage vote in such elections, it doesnt take much to get people to get a bee in their bonnet enough to just vote and make a difference.

In Boston it's not nimbyism, the A16 trunk runs through the centre of the town and is funnelled into a small signal controlled roundabout. It's mostly gridlock there as the A16 competes with local traffic. It'll be interesting to see if having a council controlled by a single interest group actually makes a difference though.

Yep,one of my customers is down near the docks there. It takes me an hour to get to the outskirts of the town from home and then another half hour to get to the docks.A bypass is a must for there.....

Fast bypasses are good, even while we still have limits...

Why should it? The vast majority of Nu Labia councils (fewer now than before) are single interest groups - they are only interested in doing what BLiar and Brown tell them to! - Streaky
