Stealth Cam with an eye to Supercharging.
Discussion
It would seem that most people on here highly regard the stealth cam for it's all around improvements yet keeping drivability in traffic. Once out on the open road the sc-power supercharger is on my wish list once they are fettled in a bit more. Sc-power say it is not long before it will be released (5ltr) but for me and my impending wedding bills sorry bells, i'll give it six months to a year.
Therefore my question is;
Apart from the obvious gains now by fitting a Stealth cam, how would that mate with the Supercharged upgrade in the future? Would I have to change the cam again to suit and be having fun wasting money in the meantime?
Current setup
ACT triple throttle & trumpets
Bosch airflow meter
Bosch hi-flow injectors
MA chip
Standard Cam - 37000 miles, never been looked at.
ACT exhaust headers
Sleeved middle box
Adj. AVOs
Front grooved discs and EBC Green stuff all round.
Oh and the ChickenS**t addition, more for my peace of mind when future wife wants a go
Racelogic TC.
Thanks

I assume it's a centrifugal blower you're looking at. One of the nice things about these is they behave just like an NA engine at low rpm (where the cam related problems are likely to occur) so you should be OK with a conventional cam. But your best bet is to talk it through with the s/c conversion suppliers first. It's a good idea to get the design for the final result clearly defined even if you plan to do it in stages.
hi Harry,
Yep it is a centrifugal blower. They limit the boost with the size of the pulley, amoungst other things. to keep the max power within the drive train capabilities.
More info on what I think is a very sorted package and to quote Owen "it just looks as though it was built like that" at www.sc-power.co.uk

With my supercharged 5.2, John Eales swapped the hairy 248 cam for a Hybrid 218. He did some back to back testing and found that the 218 was pretty good for a charger and certainly the power figures back that up. Hitting 500+ bhp/500+lbft torque. Mind you the basic engine was producing around 360 N/A to start with.
To be honest it is important to talk to whoever does the supercharger installation as the much of the go faster stuff you have already may not be reusuable with a blower or will require some extensive modifications to use it.
