Just wondering how people have got on with them? Placed an order early last Monday for a few small bits, got to the end of the order, delivery a bit over 12 quid which I thought was a bit dear but not terrible, then noticed that the goods are despatched within 7 days! Way to long in this day and age. Anyway had order from them as they were the only site listing all the bits I needed in one place, no sign of the goods yet.

Try TVR CAR PARTS really good service and if they don't have what you need they will get it. (won't pull your pants down on delivery charges)

Not used The TVR SHOP. I think its part of Thames Valley Racetech.

Agreed TVR Car Parts have been great for me recently, they've helped me get a few parts they didn't have in stock. nice guys, really willing to help, regularly called me back with status updates and put up with me changing my mind.. The web site is good, but they only have a standard delivery charge which if you only want something small may seem a bit steep.. but just phone them and they will be more then fair!!

I'm relatively new to Pistonheads so forgive me if I'm not with it, but I thought that that was part of the point of forums like these; i.e. to give advice and comment whether positive or negative. I can understand if a company was being targeted unfairly or nastily but the original comment was fair enough as far as I am concerned, and if the gripe about postage charges has been picked up by the company concerned then it may cause them to have a re-think.

There is a very clear policy on naming and shamingyes
www.pistonheads.com/terms.htm

Where's that, then.....?

Your Conduct

PistonHeads.com encourages active and open debate among our members. All that we ask is that it's done in a lawful and civil manner – be it posting on our boards or using our system to email another user directly. Accordingly, you agree to use PistonHeads.com for lawful purposes only. You may not use, or allow others to use, your membership to:

Post or transmit any content that is abusive, vulgar, obscene, hateful, fraudulent, unlawful, threatening, harassing, or defamatory or which discloses private or personal matters concerning any person;

Post or transmit any material that you do not have a right to transmit under law (such as copyright, trade secret or securities) or under contractual or fiduciary relationships (as in nondisclosure agreements);

I don't see anything there that prohibits the making of a factual statement regarding the quality / cost of services received.

But then maybe I'm missing the point if its made elsewhere in the T&Cs?

I posted as a gentle reminder as a member and moderator for some years now I have seen how quickly these type of threads can suddenly developed into a thread slating a company. This can be very one sided without such company being able to defend against these comments. It works the other way too, I am sure many a dealer etc may want to post about some idiot they have had as a customer but in the same way prehaps that Customer wouldnt be able to defend himself on here. At the end of the Day that is Pistonheads Chose the no name and shame policy. Also I think there are more lawful liable stuff o do with it to.

Okey Dokey.

Quinny:
I'd taken th context within which "defamatory" was used to suggest that the definition of defamatory was more along the lines of "libelous" (i.e. untrue) rather than just something that someone else would rather not hear (even if it is true).

As for the rolleyes - I've just had a look at the smiles legend and noticed that it is "sarcasm". Oops. Here was me thinking it was an innocent expression akin to a little kid putting their hand up to ask a question in class..... Apologies - no disrespect intended.

BB:
A valid point. Thank you.

I'll get my coat.
