Which Seals - slave or master?
Discussion
I'm sure its not a huge problem.
Took it out for a blat on Saturday. It got a little warm under the bonnet.
Sunday morning poor clutch pressure. After a couple of miles it was back to normal.
This morning got in it and couldnt engage gears with it running. Pumped the pedal a bit and took a chance. Put into gear with the engine off and started it up. Had a small amount of clutch and so I set off. Again after 10 miles or so every seems ok.
Sound familiar to anyone?

. . . imho it could be air in the system/fluid. Check fluid level first - you could try bleeding it through completely effectively changing the fluid OR of course it might be early symptoms of seal failure as your topic title mentions. Black particles in reservoir fluid are likely to be bits of seals. Check area around bulkhead under the dash around clutch pedal assembly for signs of fluid which would suggest master cylinder seals or for fluid under car from bell housing which would indicate slave seals. Let us know how you get on

If you have a garage the easist way is to put a couple of clean sheets of newspaper underneath the car in the belhousing area, then get in the car and do some frantic pumping.
The get your head in the footwell and look up at the clutch pedal, you'll be able to see if the Master is leaking, then check under the car, and check the newspaper for signs of leaking, if there is any, its the Slave seals.
If it is the Slave, I'd recomend replacing it with a Clever Trevor one, about £250, but while te Gearbox is out, a complete clutch that includes the Slave is only -only!!- about £600.

I think this is gonna be one of those "what the f**k" typical TVR unsolved mysterys. I did about 70 miles this morning and left it outside the garage. When I got back the clutch was fine. Just checked it after its been stood about 4 hours. Clutch still fine. No leaks. Fluid reservoir is full.
I'll update if the problem resurfaces. I cant help but think it had something to do with the car overheating slightly yesterday.
Thanks for the suggestions

Yup exactly that. After 3 hours of stop start London traffic we made it to Picadilly but the traffic was awful for some reason. Seemed there were a few sports cars blocking up the traffic.
As we were stopped for ages I turned the car off, got out and took photos. Got back in and my foot went straight to the floor. This was after we'd already seen a couple of TVR's die with clutch problems. I thought "Oh Sh*t here we go", but after some frantic pumping it all came back ish. Funny thing was - if I kept my foot on the clutch to keep slight pressure on it then the clutch was good. Take your foot off the clutch pedal and it disapeared to the floor again.
We managed to limp it out to the A40. Once we got going and the car cooled it was fine. I figured it was contaminated clutch fluid so cleaned it all out, flushed through completely with new Dot5 and it's been fine since.

Mine did exactly the same, each time improving to normal after 10 minutes or so of driving. After 5-6 times/ drive outs it finally gave up. Fluid leaking down the clutch pedal, master cylinder seals gone.
Not a difficult job to do though, took me just over an hour and £60ish for the new master cylinder to sort.
Word of warning though, Master cylinder changed two weeks ago and a week later Slave packed up, lost all clutch preasure on the way home, fluid runing out of the bell housing. j
