Hi i am 22, just recently bought my first supercar(as i like to call it) TVR Cerbera 4.2.
I am from Clitheroe Lancashire, just sent away for my TVR club membership. Just wondered if anyone could give me some info about the local clubs, been told about East Lancs and North Yorkshire. Just wondered if there would be any reason to join one or the other as i am kinda in the middle of both areas? Also when the big events are on do the Regional clubs all meet up?

Thanks for your help, love the car just want to get in to the social side a bit more,
cheers james

I cant really answer the club side as i dont really get involved with the clubs. But there is a good social side on here and you get to meet people from here.Plus all the info you need in keeping your car on the road can be had through this forum.thumbup

yeah, un huh, 22, yeah, wish i could have bought a car like that when i was 22. lucky sod... i had to wait til mid thirties... not that i'm enjoying it any less.

the club thing, yeah, i need to get my tvrcc membership done as well, just been very lazy, but as far as meeting up... i really don't do that kind of thing, though i did do chatsworth, but didn't talk to anyone as 1) i'm shy and 2) had the kids with me and they weren't really interested in hanging around the cars, just wanted to get off and play.

from what i gather, the meetings can be really good to get to know people who really love their cars and probably have good knowledge on them if something goes wrong. the down side, and from what i saw a bit of a chatsworth, is the egos.

OK - Depends really on the club. I joined TVR Club for the cheap insurance and to read Sprint, plus I joined 6 months before I bought the car so I could research getting a good one. The idea was to speak to owners etc, but no-one had a cerbera!

Living in Swindon I'm a bit on the cusp of Wiltshire, Oxford, 3counties etc. Wilts seems quite quiet, 3 counties seems a good bunch so I tend to hang around with them. It's really which region suits you, if they welcome you, if they are a bit clicky, what the RO is like. 3counties have a really good RO, Sharon from Bristol looks a laugh as well.

Worth going to a couple of meetings just to see if you like it. If not, don't bother going again.

For detailed ownership, PH is priceless plus they mostly seem a good bunch. You get the occaisional porker etc interloper sticking his oar in, but thats just jealousy I'm sure.

Welcome to ownership - you jammy, lucky git I've had to wait until my 40's for mine.
Just keep it on the black stuff.

Great - at only 22 you should be able to put the middle head rest to test. It is called the helmet hole.

Wasn't there a whole topic about that on here just before last Christmas?

So, where are the pictures (just to prove it can be done of course).

Thanks for the info, yea guess i am lucky to get the car, but i thought why i still live at home, have no kids no mortgage why not go for it!! and i will try and keep it on the blackstuff! The Cerbera gets a lot of respect of me, especially when you have all that power under your right foot! would rather be seen taking it easy then in a ditch some where!!

She refused to have her picture taken.

Yea i did get the coffee! and garage seems a good place to get work on the car done, seem a sound bunch there.
Also seem to know there stuff!!

As for insurance, i did get it in my own name, was around £3500, around £350 per month. As i needed to use another car, i put my dads, 318 convertible and mine on the same policy, joint names and it costs me £3000 around £295 per month. So for some strange reason its cheaper to insure both cars (for me) than one? Guess it must be cos my dad is over 50!! The insurance is still in my name, so i get the no claims which is good. i am insured with Admiral!

Bet thats loads compared to you lot!!
