Any idea on whats involved/ how difficult it is to do?

Dads an electrical engineer type consultant something or other... so he wants to replace the clock with a volt meter... we've purchased one this weekend, or atleast ordered it - so all we need to know now is how to disassemble/ swap the guages over.

all advice much appreciated,
thanks,
BCA + Jeff

...or is the idea to get an indication inside the cabin of when the proverbial big fuse has fractured and your alternator is merrily spinning away to no effect?

*shrug*

Dads an electrics man, he is only interested in a voltmeter - not sure why, but he likes to keep an eye on things.

Dad reckons an oil temp guage would be of no use, he goes by oil pressure and is very careful about things - part of the reason our Cerb has done 70k with such ease... (the other reason is its been carefully looked after/tweaked by the god of Cerberas himself, Trackcar) I guess its not worth arguing with him about it.

Any advice on how to do it?

Steering wheel off, and all the little connectors, indicator stalk gaitor off, then slacken locking nut off the stalk and wind out. I dropped the steering column adjuster out to gain more access also. Couple of screws and wriggle and wrestle it off disconecting stuff as you go. Bit fiddly this one heater vents, tape wire etc, etc.
