Afternoon all, the Bibs seem to be having a blitz with their mobile camera van around the Theale, Thatcham, Chapel Row and Buclkeberry area at the moment.

There using one of those manned vans, looks like a small white transit.

As ususal they're targeting areas where you might quite innocently wander over the 30mph limit because the roads are quite twisty in some places and you actually need to spend some time looking at the road rather than the speedometer in order to avoid going through a hedge.

And so far in the local community have had a rich haul of hatchback driving school teachers, little old ladies etc, whilst failing completely to do anything about the nutters who use the road as a race track between Newbury and Theale at 2am on a Sat night...but then of course they wouldn't pay the fines anyway. Piss truely boiled.

Normal speed enforcement areas Timmy. FYI most of the scamera van operators are civvies and as such I think they would be a bit unhappy if they were asked to work at night. Still, if you want a giggle, a Panda got zapped by Traffic in Woolhampton doing 60 in the 30. Last I heard the driver has had his Police driving permit taken away until the court case!

Oh I know, it does rather boil ones piss though. Because after all you're going to get far more revenue from sitting there merrily zapping people doing 36 or 37 in a 30 on a Sunday afternoon before they're actually come into Thatcham, than waiting at night for the occaisional prat trying to do 80mph through the village itself whilst listening to house music and high on acid.....who are actually the ones on that road that cause the causalties that they site as the reason for having the fecking cameras that they then turn on 'normal' drivers rather than the hooligans.
