Best Place for Lunch

Travelling Early Thursday via Calais. Would prefer to avoid just blasting down motorways and making route a little more sceanic and picking a good spot for Lunch. Possibly Calais/Amiens/Beavais/Gisors/Evreux/Allencon. Lunch around mid point.

Anybody know the route and good watering holes.

Said it a miilion times but a drive along the Northern coast, stopping at Honfleur for lunch then heading for the N138 is hard to beat

Hi Kevin. Thanks now that is a good idea had originally planne to sail to Le Harve but could not get crossing so why not drive that way?. Honfluer fab suggestion. Only problem was lunch last time took about 3 hours. But thats the French way I guess. Back to the Map.

Brian, travelled with a couple of friends last year, took the 7am ferry to Bolougne and used the roads right by the coast (including a coffee break by the sea). Arrived in Honfleur around 3 for Moules Frites, then as we had to buy tickets and parking passes decided to take the Autoroute to Le Mans from Rouen but this year I'll be pootling down to the N138, it doesn't get dark 'til nearly midnight and the French countryside is a wonderful place to be. Hopefully it'll stay dry, it's a great drive in the Elise, if you're taking the Ultima then you should enjoy it too.

Yep will be in Ultima. Hoping for fine weather and looking forward to journey. Its good to have a balance between nice quiet backroads and busier routes to get in amongst the convoys will get this on later part of N138 I guess.

Trust me, you'll barely see a soul on the the coastal drive (unless everyone reading this does the same!!) and it will remind you why you bought an open sports car in the first place

But what Brian's not telling you is that I'm trying to keep up in a diesel Astra Estate loaded with all the camping gear and passengers! Mind, come to think of it, he's the one who's stuffed with no tent or bed if he leaves me too far behind. Why am I worrying?

Don't worry, it's not a fast route, more an enjoyable one...or you can Autoroute it to Honfleur and meet him there

Hair and tortoise. Thanks Bruce I will get the beers. Don,t forget I have to stop every 100 odd miles to refuel and pay fines. I prefer the short bursts rather than sustained long periods at high speed. Tends to be rather expensive on both Oil and fuel.
