I might be being silly here, but what options do I have when it comes to lens choice? In that, I mean can I get away with this --> lens I'm not quite sure about the whole AF/EFS/EF/etc etc etc...

(jessops voucher for b'day today, looking at getting a bit closer to things..)

Ta..

You can use any EF or EF-S mount lens. There is not really any such thing as an Canon AF lens. As the previous mount (FD) did not support auto focus it's probably safe to assume that it's an EF mount lens.

In reply to the linked lens, yes a sigma (or tamron or tokina) with an EF , or EF-S mount is fine.

A few of the older sigma's dont work so well on the 350d tho.

Any newly purchased sigma will do however - it's just the older s/h lenses that may be an issue as they may need the firmware in the lens upgrading for digital bodies.
That sigma APO is a good one - nice and sharp with a good macro. The pick of the cheap consumer zooms if you ask me.

Well I purchased it this afternoon, unfortunately I was on my way back to the office and it's been raining all evening...

Messing around with a cuff link and a copy of evo has shown some nice results thus far.. I'll keep on playing and post anything if I actually manage to get an image worth it!
