Well as some of you may know I am trying to buy a decent 360 spider at the moment and happened to get into pub argument with a regular at my local.

We were talking about the summer v winter effect and trade prices on ferrari's esp the 360 spider, now he has a Bentley coupe, range rover (bling version) etc etc i.e. loads of cash no taste !!!

The question is lets imagine we were trading in a 2001 360 spider, my view was that now if you traded one in you would probabaly get back circa 60 - 63k and then if you traded the same car in in november / december ( my assumption was that the trade wouldnt really want to sit on it over winter) you would probably get about mid to late 50's for the car ?

His view was you would get 70k now and 70k in december !!! ( as in a dealer buying it now for cash)

Could someone of some experience give me a quick view on these prices / winter v summer please.

No this becomes relevant as said person is trying to sell a 360 for another friend and I might be interested but it would be a trade sale as the guy selling just wants shot and with no come back (very wealthy chap not interested in resale values !!) Normally puts his old cars into balckbush auctions

The car is a 2001 red / cream spider with 21k, manual needs about £750 spending on it kerbed alloys/ service.

Any views welcome

Thanks
Phib

Sounds like the view of someone with a 360 to sell. IMO, you'd do well to buy modern £70k production Ferrari and get your money back 6 months later - I dont think thats realistic, even ignoring the seasonal timings.

Agree on your figures for a 2001 red spider. Dealers prob paying 60-63K just now. Winter time is defo less but not mid 50's. Would say theres a difference of 3K between summer and winter.

I'm also looking for a 360 Spider. Whilst it sounds ideal to pick one up for trade money it's almost impossible to get the colour and spec you want, specially in Scotland!!!!

Good luck!
