M6 hidden cops.
Discussion
Came back from Scootland yesterday, and lo and behold a bridge in the distance over the M6, its busyish and doing about 80- 85 lo and behold my lazer jammer goes off???
why there are 2 cops with a lazer gun but they are below the 3 foot wal on the bridge ! ie they must be sitting down on their bums with their heads and gun above the wall and just catch a glimpst of the their sholders in their nice yellow jackets. No white hats on, car hidden well back from them
A min or so earlier there was a M3 and Vaux cav turbo giving it large, but the cops were clearly zapping everyone and billing but not stopping anyone.
Even wife agreed it looks like they were revenue earners and not playing fair. 70% of all the cars were at 80mph + so just keeping with the flow and making some.
Makes me feel more happy that I put back my jammers after being stopped told off.

This figures - more revenue generation.
Incidentally, an article in the Sunday Times today confirmed (what most of us suspected) that the Police have targets to meet in terms of the number of motoring-related fines handed out. Any officer not meeting targets gets a bit worried towards the end of the month when their success (or not) is totted up and, according to the article, will probably book anything that moves.
I realise that there are Police Officers who are not at all mean-minded and would like some chance of warning a motorist for a misdeamenour rather than fining them automatically.
This does nothing for the image of the Police in the public's eyes.

Hi Jessica,
The laser jammers are normally fitted behind the front grille of your car. They detect laser signals directed at your front number plate by mobile police speed traps, and immediately respond by sending a more powerful laser signal back to the speed gun device which causes an error, and they will not get a speed reading back from your car. A warning buzzer normally sounds in your car when this happens, giving you time to adjust your speed, then switch off the device so the cops now get a reading, but it will be more legal speed by then if you slowed down.
The most popular model is probably the Snooper SLD920, which has been tested to work 100%.
But beware ! If caught with this device you could be prosecuted for perverting the cause of justice. So there is a risk element in fitting one of these !
If you read back in this forum you will see many threads on laser jammers.
I have just got a Road Angel Laser which is 100% legal. Decided against the jammer.

Kinda pointless to know after the fact rather than before dontcha think?
The Road Angel is good for all fixed cameras...but as yet, I have not come across a mobile camera to test it out, but there is a chance that if the laser is not aimed directly at me then It will alert me that laser is in use on nearby vehicles and give me time to rapidly slow down.

.
I was under the impression that when they caught you with a hand held laser they then contacted a unit waiting down the road to stop you.
How does it work does it take a picture and show a readout of your speed?
I need to know my enemy
