recovery software
Discussion
Hello all, hope all is good.
I recently bought myself a new 4Gb Sandisk Extreme III compact flash card, I have used it maybe 4 or 5 times yet on Sunday it all went wrong.
I finished using the card leaving a little bit of space left for good measure(I usually try to leave a little space as oppose to filling the card), although while I was using it I was previewing the photos I was taking. Got home and tried to transfer the images from the card to my computer and came up with warnings that the card wasnt readable, and would then not recognise the card at all, tried several times with no success, tried putting the card back in my camera and didnt work there either, the camera was just trying to read the card, but couldnt, no warning, but the red lght was constantly on.
The disk came with some recovery software so I tried using that and still nothing, although unlike when i just try to transfer the images, the recovery software does recognise that there is a card to read but is also unable to read or access the data.
I have spoken to Sandisk who are happy to replace the card, but the warranty will not extend to the data on the card, although there is a company in Nottingham that they can recommend to recover the images, this will however cost me £77 whether successfull or not. Although I have now missed the deadline for submitting the images to the magazine I was working for it would be nice to have the images from the card.
Does anyone know of any other software that I could try to see whether I can do it myself?
