I've just finished boring out a spare Rover plenum to 71mm for my Griff. It was pretty straightforward apart from maching the 8 degree angle on the butterfly.. that was a bit of a ball-ache but it's all done and I'm very happy with it.
This afternoon however I was looking at the original plenum I removed from the Griff and noticed that the butterfly didnt have the angle on it and actually sits vertically in the bore when at idle. Now I'm a little confused as all other plenums Ive seen have had this angled butterfly..
So can one of clever chaps explain the need for the angle? I always thought it was to improve the seal at idle? Anyone also know why it would be different on the TVR plenum..?
cheers
