Hi guys: I have bought several items from Vintage Air. They make some really nice A/C outlets that are a direct replacement for the plastic factory units. They also have a electricaly controled heater valve which was a piece of cake to install. I used thier Defroster outlets to better aline the airflow with the windscreen and a defroster control valve. The stuff is well made and fits nicely into the car. I always call them to order because I am in California, but I think you would be happy with thier product if you can do it on line or just call them they are very helpfull. Lee
Yep I bought some fittings and vents etc from them. You can't buy direct only though a dealer, but there are 50+ dealers all in the states... The price of a Sanden compressor from them is about $250 and the Evaporator / Heater unit was $300... the rest of the parts arn't that expensive, and at todays exchange rate of $2 to £1 then it make it worth the postage costs...
Hi Graham,
I was going to buy from here, but to be honest after the postage costs the unit from Car Builders Solutions is about the same price.

I am going to use one of the electrically operated valves too... I am using the control panels off a TVR Tamora...
Cheers,
Mart

Are we looking to retrofit A/C Graham?

Might be. . . . .
I'm thinking about getting the factory aircon unit ('cos it's all there) and install over the winter, I'm also thinking of replacing the electronic heater valve with one from Vintage Air, the servo one.
Talking to the guy next to me in the red Can-Am at Stoneleigh, he said that without aircon at LeMans last year it would have been unbearable, and as we plan to attend the Classic next year I thought might be a good idea. . . . . . .
Martin, good to meet you last Sunday. Have you costed out all the bits you need from CBS against the factory?

If you do not mind me asking, what evaporator / heater unit did you buy from Vintage Air? I have been looking at their products but do not see one that would fit. Well at least I did not think it would fit. Thanks,
Randy

It's the same unit that Car Builders Solutions sell for 3 times the price. Trouble is that buying from the States, the postage charges were more than the unit.... In the end I bought a kit from CBS which included all the bits you need to make it work..

Hope that helps!

Have you got any pictures?Cheers,

I do like some of their switchgear but what problems did you encounter?
cheers
Keith
Not fitted them yet, but will take some pics later. The light unit is very easy to sort out. Each position drives a switch output which should be easy enough to sort out... The heater controls are much more difficult as these run through the dash display on the Tamora/Sagaris before they operate the heater controls (temp, fan speed etc.) I am tempted to just strip the circuit board off the back then use standard pots / switches, but then the LED's will not operate. (It makes sense when you see the pictures...)
I will be fitting these soon, so I will let you know how it goes.
Cheers,
Mart
Here are a couple of pics of the Tamora / Sagaris control panels...

I am installing in the middle of the dash with my PC joggle button and a ring of display lights around the outside (for battery, oil, brakes, etc)... Something like this...

Hey Mart,They look brilliant.....although I am a bit concerned about the fitting as you say...It would be well beyond me I think!
..I am tempted though...they just look so fantastic! If anything TVR are (sorry - were!) spot-on in design! Huge shame....
Anyhow, I just realised that not only do you have the same fantastic body colour as I do (Heh!), and your build looks not too far away from mine...but your not a million miles away as I am in Cheltenham! ...So Hi!
Maybe we might be able to compare notes sometime...email me!
