I don't want to say a proper goodbye cos I haven't experienced the might of the XJR V8, the S-type R or the mighty XKR yet. However, discounting the several Jaguars that I grew up with (MK2, XK150, Series 1 XJ6, Daimler Majestic Major and XJ40), I have now owned three Jags including the series 3 XJ6 (gorgeous!), XJ40 and 6 pot manual XJR,(which is now sold on). I have enjoyed every moment and will continue to take the JEC membership every year.

Where to now? Well, I firmly believe that there is a little devil in all us lads (and some lasses) which tells you to go out and buy a TVR, despite the obvious cries of "it'll let you down" etc etc! It's the V8, the rumble and the fact that the missus keeps telling me that the XJR looks like an old mans car. Well, it doesn't, I know that, but the Chimaera is a long held desire and since I owe myself a mid-life crisis, I have sourced one and am on the verge of bagging it!

I shall return to the Jag fold, of that I have no doubt, but for the time being....happy driving! Note to self..."ask TVR if I can fit a 6 cylinder XJR engine into a Chimaera" Now there's a thought....Jeeez!

Thanks Cardigan Kid. The Jaguar section has been particularly quiet. Maybe they don't like people to jump marques. I've not encountered this before!

Er, I have to confess, it was meant ironically. Maybe the congregation dont understand why you are taking a step they equate to insanity. But, genuinely, I hope it goes well. The only way you are going to find out is by trying it. if it doesn't you can always return to XKR's and maybe modifying them a bit, which I think is the way forward! There are going to be enough of them about.thumbup

Well, after almost 14 years of TVR ownership, I'm about to go the otherway. Hopefully(!) pick up an XKR this weekend.

Cheers,
Graham

Well Graham, your Griff looks gorgeous, I love the colour! You will love the XJR, it does everything very quickly and with no fuss and bother. Congratulations, if one has to jump brands to anything, jump to Jaguar!

I had nine years of TVR ownership and frankly just best 9 years ever.Great cars much better than people say and a proper drivers car.Nothing like a TVR at full belt to give max thrill and enjoyment .I miss mine !!!
