redex injectior cleaner - does it work or snake oil rubbish?

I am curious about red-ex product, they have fuel treatments, injectior cleaner, diesel cleaner, and there is other brand name of similar chemicals.

or it is an other snake oil product on shelf that does nothing to engines?

does it really work?

Most injector cleaners do work, but also most modern fuels have the detergent package now so injectors tend not to get as clogged (providing you're using the decent fuel.....)

If you're unsure of the cars history a bottle in the tank won't do any harm but like as not you won't notice any difference either, unless its got a problem.

I use it on my mk2 golf carb as i have heard good stuff about it on carbs, none of this extra mpg or HP but just helps run better and cleans the carb out.

I still use it regularly .. and have used the 1/2 a bottle stuff when I have occasionally run out ouf petrol.

The car then ran of 7 cylinders .. not good.

Cheaper than a strip down.

Like Matt says - should not really be needed but if you buy cheap petrol then you will need it ocassionally..
