Along with some other PHers by the sound of it, I've been looking for a good 996TT for a while now. I thought I would find a good one with warranty for around 45k but no joy so far. I don't want to rush into anything but at the same time am getting impatient.

I guess my question is, is a 996TT worth the extra wait (for a right one), the extra purchase cost, the extra servicing etc over a standard 996 ? I've driven both and do think the carrera will always be the poor cousin in my heart but I'm not sure I'm ever going to find the ideal TT.

Can I go on without this power in my life ?

i reckon that it would be worth holding out for a good tt because if you buy a carrera and you see a turbo youll regret it.

... is this what you really meant to say

something like this

Hold out for the Turbo or stretch your budget a bit, and get the X50 pack if you can.

Save some more pennies and you'll find the one you want. I found mine within 2-3mths of looking.

i know exactley how you feel mate, spent the best part of 3 months searching the autotrader/pistonheads everywhere.
I was loosing hope too, then an X50 literally fell into my lap and i took it.

dont loose hope, just have the funds in hand and be ready to act quickly.
One will pop up soon enough.

Dont make do with a C4S or carrera, they are no where near as quick regardless of what the figures suggest.
A turbo is one serious tool.

I agree with everyone above.

Wait for the Turbo, or, if you can't - don't ever ever drive one...

I've switched from a C4 to 996tt and it's definitely worth hanging on for one. The tt is awesome
