Rolling Road Charges.

My Turbo is finally ready to run on some rollers to get the fuel, ignition and boost optimized. In your experiances/opinions what should I pay per hour, which I guess also depends on how many hours the car will sitt in the garage bay. So far have been given two estimates #1 appx 2 hours @ £42.50/H. #2 appx 1 hour @ £125/H. Both are reputable places #2 seems to know more (something) abouth the Microdynamics ignition and fuel management I use.
Your opinions please, with the exception of a possible plug change I think its all setting up, how long can it take to turn a few screws, less time than it will take to cool between runs mes thinks.

Have the injectors cleaned and checked. Give it an oil service and make sure its got plenty of clean oil in. Maybe new plugs...
Make sure the cooling system is in TOP order. a big external fan is no substitute for 130MPH of air thru the rad. And you wont get that when its doing 6200RPM in 4th on the rollers, stationary.
Also, dont turn up with less than 1/2 tank of fuel in it. They do use a bit on the rollingroad.
Can you tell I went through this yesterday?!? Autocraft SVE in Salisbury. about £60 per hour plus Vat, and well worth it: recommended.

hi mate i would phone up microdynamics and find out if there is someone in your area with a rolling road how thay no how thay would req
allso if you cheak you car over compleatly before you take it plug gap / plugs/leads sensors ect allso the running gear as i was about to go to a rolling road last weak and on the morning found the o/s uj had loads of play in it even though i cheaked them the other week
cheaking the car will save them time and u money
allso put a posting on the kitcar foram as thay are more lightly to put a after markit system on there car and might req some one in your area

The injectors are new, oil is always kept as new and to the Max. The plugs are also new, but I'm unsure about the heat rating (NGK B8EVX)

Cooling system is in 'fairly' good order, it cools perfectly but has just developed a VERY slight weep from the rad! 130MPH @6.2K RPM no no no! I have a 3.07 rear end so a bit more MPHs than that my friend.

Your quite correct, a little entertainment and it can be scary on fuel consumption, Southport to Chatsworth House and back the other week only used one, no not one gallon, one full tank, well the pair actually, and they were very full!!! 32-34 MPG if I'm pussy footing though.

Don't know why I cant give longer replys but they get edited short for some reason, so here's the rest.....

As earlier in my reply the plugs are new so gaps should still be OK, plug leads are also new, sensors..... what are they! One pressure sensor for boost, one for over boost thats it! Its a very old system, well the cars now 25 years old!
You had a failed UJ!!!, I still grease mine every three months (1500K miles PA) more if if frequently if I'm doing longer distances, or getting the brakes good and hot, Appx 12 years on the joints currently fitted and still going well.
total agreement about generally checking over the car.
