I want to improve my Tuscan MK1 with new shocks and springs. Ohlins, Intrax etc are for plain streetuse for me to expensive. GAZ is now offering a set for app. 500 pounds.

Is that a general option or do I get the same result?

I believe many owners have gone for this Gaz option mainly due to the cost savings. For general road use they probably are up to the task. I am sure someone who has practical experience will be along soon to respond. It also might be worth your while touching base with Trackcar Solutions and asking their opinion, Joolz will most certainly give you his expert and honest advice.

Thanks for the usefull link. The problem is that everybody is claiming to have the best set (Koni, Ohlin,Intrax;GAZ, SPAX, Bilstein etc etc) I think nobody made a comparison test for the Tuscan in the past.

To my knowledge, a few years ago there wern't so many manufacturer options. The standard Bilstiens (on my car) had Eibach springs and the car pitched terribly on undulating roads at speed. My options at the time for good quality (easily obtainable) adjustable replacements were between Ohlins and Nitrons. Ohlins were rather too expensive and the PH forum posters at the time all seemed to advise going for the Nitrons, so that was my choice and I have been really happy with them. The guys at Craft who have test driven my car have commented that it rides far better than most Tuscans they have driven. I stand by what I said, Joolz will offer you impartial advice and suspension set up is part of his core business.

As ever....Good luck

I went the Gaz route (partly influenced by cost!) and am very happy with the result. It has vastly improved the car's handling. Whether it would be even better with one of the others, I can't say. But for my use of the car (road only) and my limitations as a driver, the Gaz set up suits me very well.

I went for GAZ, purely due to the dealer fitting under warranty. I'm also happy with the results on road, though no track experience.

The only slight issue I have is a very solid bump when going over larger humps due to bad road surface. Could they maybe be set a little low for road use?

I think the problem with asking the question is all replacement shocks seem to be better than the originals so everyone is happy with what they've fitted.

PPC in Melton fitted Nitrons to my Tuscan for me. They recommended them as they'd given the best customer feedback and they used them on the old TMS racing Griff with great results.

Personally all I can say is it's a lot better now than with the originals and I'm more than happy.
