Photography Question
Discussion
I was watching CSI last night and one of the investigators used a piece of software to correct an out of focus picture and bring it in to focus.
Do such pieces of software exist? I have hundreds of blurred shots from trying out lenses and trying to improve my photography and would love to clean some of them up.
Any ideas?

It's unlikely anything they use on CSI is any better than smart sharpen in photoshop CS2.
Maybe post up an example and someone with CS2 can have a crack if you don't have it yourself?
CSI is littered with unrealistic stuff like zooming in on a small section of CCTV footage and extracting incredible levels of detail for a print of someone's face. Chances are this is the same.

I was afraid that this would be the case, never mind.
I don't have Photoshop CS2, so would be really grateful if someone with it could have a go - maybe drop me an e-mail through my profile and I'll E-mail a pic direct to save Ted's bandwidth!!
Concievably you can do a lot with a photo, but it'll take a lot of processing to get an aproximation (i.e. condense points of light etc , I wouldnt be suprised if .gov agencies had tech that could get a whole lot of detail out of a pic.
I remember a still from a camera at a railway station couldnt make a thing out of it (murder case), Uk sent it to FBI who mabaged to get a fairly good face out of it and lead to a suspect.
CSI do though push the believability a lot.

Nah - if it's CSI they really can do it, you know!
And the sky in Miami really is that colour.
But is Grissom really sleeping with Suicidal!?
And anyway they all use Nikons....all three teams got a job lot, I reckon.
Nah - it's real, just like they can pick out all the background noise in a recording and when they search the interwebnet they always find what they're looking for, and there's always one of them with an encyclopedic knowledge of something obscure and they always solve the crime in 43 minutes and despite the fact that three days will have elapsed the crime scene is always just as tehy left it when they go back to find something they missed, and teh first guy they interview didn't do it.....

Sarcasm....Sarcasm!!
I was pretty sure that they were using artistic license, but, like the poster above I remember the FBI doing their magic a few years ago, so I figured there must be some software out there...
