944 S2 - Classic car insurance
Discussion
I'm collecting my S2 tmrw ('89, £3k value) and need to organise insurance. It'll be a weekend car, happy to limit to 3000 miles but parked in street. I'm 33 with no accidents/points etc.. Previously used Heritage who are now quoting £310 pa. Heritage insured my previous 944 Lux for £250 a couple of years ago. Any comments or suggestions? Does the £310 seem reasonable (I'm in Edinburgh, good postcode, I think!). Thanks.
I'm with A One Insurance Group via TiPEC. 50 year old, 944 Lux at £3k, 5000 miles PA. All in is £166 with legal etc.

I use Carole Nash for my 1988 928S4. 3000 miles with euro breakdown under £240. (Policy is by Chaucer).
I recently swapped the insurance over from one 928 to another with just £16 admin to pay. So you don't even loose money on the policy if you decide to trade into another 944 before your year is up.
The price of the policy even went down this year.

944 Turbo. 5000 miles p/a. Garaged, third car. Myself as main driver, wife as named driver.
£73.00, although that's without breakdown cover (already have it with AA for the two main family cars) and also without legal protection. But still, SEVENTY-THREE QUID??? Cor Blimey Guv'nor, and no mistaking.
