PCV Valve - Oil Blow By Question (1995 XJS)
Discussion
1995 XJS 4.0L AJ16 - 90,000 miles. During a fuel system cleaning, the tech noticed excessive oil blow by in what he called the PCV valve (on top of the valve cover).
1. Does this car have a PCV or is it called something else?
2. I use 20w50 oil but found it to be slightly overfilled. Too much oil or too thick the culprit?
3. Normal?
Thanks for any advice!!

Hi Jim, read the second post by "uncle" on this forum regarding your crankcase ventilation issue and see if your car has had the TSB work done to it.

20-50 oil sounds too heavy to me, why don't you ask on this thread what you should be running in it weight wise. Let them know you live in a fairly hot climate.

O.K., I'm off to change the 2 front o2 sensors on the Disco.

Uh...uh...uh, hey I've been looking for this for you for a month now and finally found it. You may want to bookmark it or better yet save a copy and burn it to disc. It's supposed to be a really good book for the XJS.
