Hi There

My old man has a nearly new 4200 Gransport and its eaten the set of pirellis allready so its time for some new tyres so i wanted to ask a few questions on his behalf

1. Would you stick with the pirellis P zero rosso ( or what ever they come with as standard ) Front 235/35/ZR19 Rear 265/35/ZR19 pr is it best to have a look at some ps2s or something .....

2. Is it advisable to have the tyres changed somewhere like Maranellos in egham or is it ok to take the car to our local tyre place ( have had tyres for years from this guy , allways matchs net prices and seems pretty good. Has done My racing puma and my dads old M3 in the past

Thanks for the help

I've always been happy with Pirellis on my Maser. Just had a new rear set fitted, actually.

I don't see the need to take it to a Dealership. So long as whoever knows what they are doing - inc. jacking the car - there's no problem. I didn't let mine out of my sight though, I got the guy to come to me. Didn't fancy some spotty teenage tyre-swapper 'testing' the tyres out in my absence ...

I'll be needing a rear set by the end of the month for the MOT,
265/35/18 I'm going to stick to the Michelin something or
other that's already on, anybody know what I should
expect to pay?

if GS has 265/35/19 (see original thread) and Coupe has 265/35/18, the GS overall diameter is 1" bigger that Coupe. Is the GS gearing different to the Coupe?

Humpries in Bracknell or Bagshot (keep going up the A30 past maranellos and you'll get there) always do good prices.

I've got goodyear f1 gds3s on the back and they seem good, will prob get the same again (soon!!)

I put Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3's on mine and I am very pleased - the ride is a little more solid, but the grip especially on hard accelaration seems better. I got them at a real bargain (Under £200 each) from Tyretrax in South Norwood - if interested ring Martin on 020 8656 9992

I've got the asymmetrics on - but I couldn't tell you the difference between the three sorts. I got them for £170 each, if that helps as a price guide (Protyre, Bristol).
