I've mentioned this on another post, but still havent found an answer.
If I wanted my wheels painting black with a chrome/silver edge, how much are you looking at for this? Is it a case of having it powder coated or painted? And then how do they do the edge if powder coated?

Im thikning of having black wheels, silver edge on my yellow cayman with the sport 19's (which sort of a grey colour as standard). Think I paid about £500 for red wheels on my 968, but pretty sure I overpaid.
Thanks.

PS. Anyone any photos of such a car, with such a paint job!!!

I'm interested too.

I want a white one with either matt black or dark blue wheels.

I tried photoshopping and ended up with purple wheels no matter what I did!

After much umm-ing and ahh-ing, I had the wheels on my 997 powder-coated black with a silver lip by Lepsons in Kent. Total cost was £425. Do it.

I saw a Cayman S in white with brown wheels, the same colour as the interior. 'Interesting' choice there...

BJV engineering would paint for around £200 for all 4, they just refurbed mine albeit in silver and were a pleasure to deal with.

These guys are very good, particularly on Split Rims , highly recommended.

To the original poster, have a look at www.directfinish.com and speak to David Furness, they are a little closer to you and their work has always been first class on my past wheels.

Just fitted a spare set of Sport Design wheels to my Mk.1 GT3. The wheels are obviously split rims and I seperated them myself before having the centres ( made of steel ) powder coated black, and the rims ( alloy )powder coated silver , the identical colour to the car (arctic silver).

If you want to know full details and see pics. click on this link.

If someone can explain how to upload photos on THIS site I'll put some on if it will help you.

Just had all four of mine refurbed by these guys, £200. Very good they are.
I asked about black with silver lip. Think that was £250.

Just resprayed mine - very happy so far, but I am keen to see how they hold up after braking temps go up on a trackday, I hear of some black resprayed wheels fading colour from high temps.
At the moment, they look good - although they cost me more than average to do.

There is an article in this months Porsche post about a guy picking up his Cayman from the factory. Its white with red wheels. I've seen this car in the flesh and it really does look good. However Porsche did not do this for him they had to out-source the work. I think it cost him about £700, sound expensive but it really does make the car.

I don't like it that much, but with the rims... Hmm...
