Two options for the double din adaptor. The best, and most used, is the so called ChimChim adaptor which is made by a chapp called Chimchim in the US. Search the ls2gto.com forums for it. Costs about £90 but is the perfect match.
See loads of detail here:

The other option is a newly released adaptor by Metra. Not sure if it is available in the UK yet - you can read about this on the same thread above. Cost is only about £20 or so, but it isn't an exact match - close though apparently.

Steering wheel controls can be used if you get the PAC Audio unit. I have the PAC-ALP (now renamed PAC-JACK) for my Alpine IVA-W200Ri and it works a treat.

Loads of other info on this as I've recently done it - let me know if you have any other questions.

Here you are....

Cost of Double DIN Adaptor from Chimchim was $175 shipped. As you can see, it is a perfect match for our interior (notwithstanding the crack in it that I managed to do when re-installing it recently)...

Cost for PAC-ALP was about £40 from eBay from the US.

I've a Metra single DIN adapter on back order through their sole-importer in England (London-ish based), been around 3-4 weeks so far and still waiting for it

I've a flip out Kenwood DVD/touchscreen waiting on it to arrive to

The metra double din adaptors are all over the US version of Ebay at $10, postage to uk is being offered.

Is the UK importer official or do they have an ebay account?

Which Kenwood unit have you gone for? Flip screens are great until you open it to get a disc out and forget you've still got your cup holder down with a full can in it....

Fortunatley still works, cup holder ok but the screen motor is a tad noisier now.

Is everything you need to install a double din aftermarket unit available on eBay?

If so can someone point me in the correct direction?

Thanks in advance

Greg

I'd be interested in a group buy deal. It works out at around £17 including shipping for the current kit sold individually.

I'm exploring carputer options for the future. I know one of Wortec guys (Duncan?) has one in his GTS.

So, depending on which HU you go for you may not need aerial or harness adaptor. I have the alpine W200Ri and the aerial connectors in the car are exactly the ones needed for the HU. Same for the ISO wiring harness - plugs straight in (although you do need to swap round the permanent and switched live pins - but they are normally on bullets so is straight forward.).

So, with my Alpine there was no need for any adaptors.

It's the Kenny 715 unit (multiregion DVD in head/touchscreen) that I had in my old mag featured Astra Coupe Turbo (hopefully this pic will work as not at home to upload from main PC just now)...top right of page scan...

The UK importer is their only officially official company here in the UK, I've one of the best ICE companies around a small pebbles throw from my house here in NI (Sound In Motion - several show winning installs from their premises over the years) and have a good working relationship with them, they've a few Metra bits and bobs needed for some non-mainstream UK cars at the moment, so it was in theory going to be as easy for them to get them all in one go...will need to pay them a visit and see if there's any joy yet at some stage this week...
