GT3 ................ worried for no reason?
Discussion
After lots of searching, I managed to find a Mk2 GT3 to the spec I was looking for, having gone to look at it (not an OPC, but a performance franchise dealers) there were a number of alarm bells that were set ringing
The under bonet sticker was missing - also not present on the service booklet
both air con condsensors looked very new
no stone chips on the front (dealer said the car had not been preped) the car has covered 20,000 miles
6 months over service
Does any one have any thoughts?

if the bonnet had no sticker but the service book was ok then i wouldnt be too worried but when both are missing that would concern me too
the whole car as you describe it sounds very strange
the rule of thumb is, if you have a bad feeling about a car walk away
there are plenty more around

Lack of stone chips and the bonnet sticker could also mean the car has been tracked(no big deal) and the previous owner had the bonnet and probably the bumper resprayed. Sprayshop may not have realised the importamce of the sticker and just ripped it off when prepping the bonnet for spraying. The condensors/radiators on these cars are very prone to stone damage unles they have the mesh grilles in the bumper, this might explain the newness of those fitted.
If you like the car and are just a bit wary then pay to get a good inspection and try to make contact with the previous owners to ask whether it had ever been pranged whilst in their ownership. If you know the reg no then put a post on the www.titanic.co.uk website and ask any of them if the car has a known history. Loads of GT3 guys on there who are usually very helpful.
If all of the above still leaves you uncertain, then as the other have said, walk away.

Thanks for the feedback.
I know what you mean about the condensors, I have had both replaced on my C4 and these look newer than the 12 month old one on my car.
I get the feeling that this one is a case of, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and swims like a duck - its a duck!!
The other point on the body work is that there are no bills, only OPC invoices for a single service and tyres - and who buys tyres from an OPC!!! yet wouldnt include bodywork details.
Time to continue the search

I wouldn't even bother with an inspection - there are enough GT3's around to keep looking.
Sounds like front end work has been done, certainly a respray at the very least which the selling garage knows about & is hiding from you or they really don't know about it, which makes you wonder what else they might have missed when they took it in.
