993 worn front diff
Discussion
Hello all, i'm a first time poster on the Porsche forum and i'm after a bit of tech help.
My 993 C4 is currently in for a service (and other bits) at a local Indie. He's informed me that the front diff is worn and will require repair/replacement in the not to distant future. I do not have the specifics of the problem as it was only a brief conversation. As a worst case scenario my techie is going to get a quote for a new unit from the local OPC but I guess this will be a very expensive route I’d rather not take. Has anyone got any advice on the options I could take in getting the diff repaired or exchanged, and has anyone experience a similar problem as I have not been able to find any info on a forum search.
Thanks for any help
Paul.

Hi Paul, there are some 993C4 second hand parts (including front diff) for sale on the PorscheGBclub forum classifieds if your a member!
My 993C4 has done over 100K and I do track days, these things are suppose to be bullit proof, does it sound noisy, have you tried changing the oil its quite easy to do.

Hello Fergusond.
Thanks for the response. I am a member of PCGB forum but have never been able to get my account active, i'll have to try again.
I have thought about going down the second hand route but just wanted to see what my options are i.e. are they able to be rebuilt or does someone offer an exchange service. They are supposed to be bullet proof and i think this has thrown my techie a little as he's only come accross this before on a 996, hence the post. Doesn't sound noisy to me.
