hi, dont have a car yet, but I have asked that Q, the dealer in question told me that there is a switch on the back of the light units like porsche 996 and 997 units, but they said I would be better taking it into them to get it switched.
If i had a car i could look at I would take off the inspection cover inside the front wheel well and look if there was a obvious switch, I know porsche drivers do the switch on the tunnel over.

On my DB9 they have to remove both front wheels in order to gain access to the panel behind which is the relevant switch. It takes between 45 minutes and an hour. I assume it will be the same for the Vantage?
For modern times, surely this is a bit ridiculous. I was hoping a few stickers might do the trick!

For modern times I don't see why bloody johnny foreigner can't drive on the correct side of the god damn road. Savages.
Not sure why they can't put the levers for changing beam direction in a more accessible place though.
Just do like bjf's do when they come over here. i.e. don't bother.
Who cares? I have never bothered on any of my cars and have done lots and lots of driving abroad without and issue. I know it is the 'good thing to do' but really why bother, do you think all the French German Polish etc cars over here have bothered...I dont think!

I'm invading the continent tomorrow and will just be taking the usual headlight stickers, which I won't actually use unless I'm stopped by the local constabulary. I'll probably use the same approach with the GB stickers/magnets as well (any tips on whereabouts on the car to put them if I have to?).
It would be nice to be able to change the headlight direction in 5 minutes with a screwdriver, but there are plenty of other features that are a lot higher up my wishlist. Like a handbrake that works, and a gearbox that doesn't mind being put in reverse...

I didn't intend to offend anyone it was just a genuine remark, I don't think that insulting my father's choice of car really benefits anyone. Unless I've read that wrongly it's quite a nasty thing to say and the first I've encountered on an otherwise excellent forum.

The trouble with text messaging and/or email is that any "inference" is lost.
You posed the QUESTION "That's quite a flaw isn't it?" - it was a QUESTION and not a STATEMENT - but unfortunately people can be a bit sensitive when it comes
to negative words such as "Flaw" - so they end up replying by resorting to defensive or "loaded" comments - instead of constructive one's.
To answer your question without being patronising,witty or sarcastic - IMHO - the facility to change the lights over via a switch is a great one - and like the 996/997- it's just a pity it's not as easily accessable as your dad's Beemer - as Ian67 also alluded to.
Pugsey - My local AM dealer seems very good - but when I asked about changing the lights over - I was told the job takes nearly a couple of hours to change both headlamps over - then a couple of hours to change them back again! Please let us all into the secret of getting this done FOC! You've got your dealer eating out the palm of your hand!
I dont think there are any guiding marks on the headlamp covers of the Vantage - so placing stickers may involve shining the beam against a wall and experimenting with placement of stickers or masking tape? Does any one have any experience of doing this?

They're quite a small dealer, I've dealt with one of the guys for more years than I care to remember, oh and I've spent a fair bit with them, all of which helps I guess. However, as I said, my Porsche dealer does the same too. Maybe you just need to ask nicely? Either that or they're tight wotsits at your dealer! Couple of hours free labour in return for buying £90k cars seems like good inexpensive customer relations to me.

Hmmm...one would think so. My very Central London dealer is quite hopeless. Even asking why I didn't get the standard pair of standard sill plates to go with my customised ones resulted in "that will be £160+VAT please..."
