Hi guys,

Being a newcomer to Porsche and with the used Boxster S i've just purchased requiring a Major service (45Kmiles), I'm looking for somewhere to service it. Im in West Sussex and first choice is naturally Paragon but with their prices on the rather high side for a pretty simple oil change, pollen/air/oil filters, Im looking at other choices...

So anyone used PARR specialists in Crawley, if so whats their prices/service like? And anyone have any other suggestions of other specialists in the area?

Many thanks

I always used Sussex Performance Centre in Horsham for my Boxster S and got great service. Andy Brown also offers a discount on labour if you are a member of TIPEC.

They setup my 996RS every year. They're expensive but good. I once got a £3000 grand bill from them and they added £3.95 for a Porsche magazine I picked up in their reception... nice.....

Do a great job though.

Parr are a very well run outfit. They certainly know what they are doing in terms of car prep both on-track and off-track. They look after a good number of Pheaders race and road cars. Certainly not at the cheap end of the spectrum but cheaper than OPC labour. I can personally recommend them but it all depends on your priorities?

Another thumbs up for PARR. Get my GT3 serviced there and have never had a problem with them. In addition I've had a brake upgrade, a track orientated suspension set up and a remap done there. Not cheap but have never had a problem with them.

The best thing about Parr (apart from Steve's superb customer services) is their honesty. You can trust what they are telling you to be totally 100% correct. I have been taking my Boxster S to them for over a year now and its the only place I will take it. Yes the labour charge is a touch more than most standard garages, but you get what you pay for. Plus they do a courtesy car loan while your car is being worked on. I am booking my Boxster S in for a new clutch and fly wheel shortly and it is pricey, but no where near as pricey as Porsche. Porsche charge £2099 inc VAT just to change the clutch. But Parr are charging me £1499 to change the clutch and fly wheel. They are also very friendly on the phone. 9.5/10.

You should also give Ken at 9e a call for a price comparison. I've used them and am happy to vouch for them. Can't go wrong with Parr either tbh.

£300 for a major service seems ridiculously cheap IMO - they're always busy mind.

Haven't used Parr but can say only good things about Precision. Sam in the bodyshop is great and Jonny in the workshop with his team are a great bunch. Lots of work with them on my 986 box and very happy with the service;

I use Parr. They are very good. They've done all my mods and are very knowledgable and trustworthy. I'd like a Capristo exhaust for mine but will probably go with a Cargraphic one so Parr can do the work, they are really good.

Only heard good things about 9E too. Ken is very nice on the phone and knowledgable.
